Game Tengoku CruisinMix Special’s English Version Boots Up On PS4 & Steam On November 30

Game Tengoku CruisinMix Special, an enhanced port of Jaleco’s all-star vertical shmup, is set to boot up on PC via Steam and PlayStation 4 at the end of this month. The original version of the game released on Steam in Japanese only last year.

Game Tengoku CruisinMix originally released in arcades in 1995, with a home console port coming in 1997. The game offers six stages of orthodox shooting action that can be played with a second player, and Special adds new remixes for every playable character in Time Attack, new Clarice bombers (screen nukes , and a new sound test option. English subtitles have also been added so people understand the jokes this time around.

Game Tengoku CruisinMix Special is set to replace the original in terms of release, and Degica Games announced that any owners of the original version can upgrade to Special for free via an update on release.

As for whether there are any differences between the releases – both versions have the same content in nearly all respects, except for one change made to the Western release on PlayStation 4. While the Japanese version of Special and the Western Steam release adds two Clarice Bomber (ie screen nuke) illustrations, the Western PS4 release has been confirmed by Degica Games to only add one illustration, with the above one being cut (for now). That said, it apparently isn’t because of Sony.

Game Tengoku CruisinMix Special comes out internationally on November 30, 2018 on PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
