A hunter squares off against a Rathalos and Pyre Kadna-Kadaki in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak’s First 2023 Event Quests Offer a Crown-Sized Seething Bazelgeuse

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak kicked off 2023 with two events quests that will send hunters squaring up against a triplet of fire-wielding monsters for two new gestures, as well as a guaranteed gold crown-sized Seething Bazelgeuse. The event quests are available to play right now. The first event quest is “The Torrid Trio.” It pits hunters against a Rathalos, Pyre Rakna-Kadaki, and the elder dragon Teostra in the Lava Caverns. Both Pyre Rakna-Kadaki and Teostra have elemental weaknesses against water, while Rathalos is susceptible to Dragon element attacks. Defeating the monsters will earn players two new gestures. In the second Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak event quest “Starting with a Bang,” hunters will match their skills against a giant variant of the Bomber Wyvern itself, Seething Bazelgeuse. Set in the Infernal Springs, one of the game’s smallest biomes, defeating the monster guarantees the plus-size gold crown. While neither event quest offers new layered armor, Sunbreak continues to see further updates. The fourth free Title Update, available in February 2023, also promises a returning elder dragon and new powered-up monster. While PlayStation and Xbox owners will join the fray with the digital-only release of Monster Hunter Rise in January. Monster Hunter Rise will be released on PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One on January 20, 2023.
