Monster Hunter Rise Best Selling

Monster Hunter Rise Was the Best Selling Nintendo Switch Title in Japan in 2021

In a report from Famitsu, the publication revealed that Monster Hunter Rise was the best selling Nintendo Switch title in Japan in 2021. The title has sold an estimated 2,350,693 units from its initial release on March 26, 2021 to December 26, 2021. These numbers only includes sales from within Japan and do not account for total worldwide sales, as Monster Hunter Rise surpassed 7.5 million units sold worldwide in October 2021. Additionally, outside of Monster Hunter Rise being the best selling title for the Nintendo Switch in Japan, it was also the most downloaded. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Monster Hunter Rise has proven to be a highly successful title for Capcom. It surpassed Street Fighter II as Capcom’s best selling single platform title. The developer also announced plans to release paid DLC for Monster Hunter Rise, titled Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, during a September 2021 Nintendo Direct. The expansion will have a new player hub, along with entirely new monsters. Additionally, several monsters from previous Monster Hunter titles will appear in the expansion. Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will release sometime in Summer 2022.

Additionally, Capcom announced in February 2021 that Monster Hunter Rise would receive a PC release. The PC version of the game will arrive with a plethora of content updates. It will be mostly caught up to the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Monster Hunter Rise is available for Nintendo Switch. It will release for PC on January 12, 2022.
