Additionally, Capcom has plans to strengthen the Monster Hunter brand. One of the ways it plans to strengthen the Monster Hunter brand is through the release of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. This expansion will add new monsters into the game, alongside fan favorites. It will also feature an entirely new Elder Dragon known as the Malzeno. New hunter actions and a new hunting hub will appear in the expansion. However, it will arrive as paid content.

Monster Hunter Rise will also release for PC in January 2022. A demo for the PC version of the game is immediately available through Steam. However, this version of the game will not support cross play between the already released Nintendo Switch version. Additionally, players will not be able to transfer their save data from the Nintendo Switch version of Monster Hunter Rise to the PC version.

Monster Hunter Rise is available for Nintendo Switch. A PC version will release on January 12, 2022 through Steam. The Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion will release sometime in Summer 2022.
