Mortal Kombat X is going up a size. Mortal Kombat XL will be released on March 1 and provide an opportunity for newcomers to get a copy of the game and both of its Kombat Pack add-ons at once. For those unaware, the Kombat Packs are essentially the Mortal Kombat X equivalent of season passes.
That means people purchasing Mortal Kombat XL will get nine more playable characters, four skin packs, and miscellaneous additional skins. The first Kombat Pack added Tanya, Tremor, Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th), and the Predator (Predator) to the game, with three themed skins for each and a Samurai Skin Pack for characters in general. The Kombat Pack 2, which still doesn’t have a release date, adds Bo’Rai Cho, Tri-Borg, Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), a Xenomorph (Alien), and a playable version of Goro. It also adds Apocalypse, Brazil, and Kold War Skin Packs, as well as a Kold War skin for Scorpion.
Mortal Kombat X is immediately available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Mortal Kombat XL will come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 1. People who pre-order will get a Lin Kuei ninja costume for Cassie Cage and a Shirai Ryu costume for Jacqui Briggs.
