Capcom will hold new Street Fighter art exhibits in Shibuya, Tokyo, and Kitakyushu, Fukuoka in 2022. The Shibuya exhibit will take place first at Tokyo Anime Center from February 10 to March 27, 2022. The following exhibit at Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art will follow from June 18 to August 7, 2022.
Capcom will place life-sized statues of Chun-Li and M. Bison (the dictator known as Vega in Japan) at the exhibit venue in addition to the art exhibits and merchandise store. The venue will also have a couple of attractions. One will allow visitors to take a picture launching a Hadouken at the Bonus Stage car. The other will place a visitor’s face on a losing character.
Capcom initially tried to hold the Street Fighter exhibit at Fukuoka City Science Museum from March to May 2020. However, the coronavirus pandemic and Japan’s state of emergencies hampered the event multiple times. After an outright cancellation in May 2020, Capcom held another session from July to September 2020. The second run went well without any pandemic-related interruptions. The upcoming Shibuya and Kitakyushu exhibits will help celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Street Fighter series.
The series’ latest title, Street Fighter V, is immediately available on PlayStation 4 and PC. Content additions to the game concluded with Luke’s release in November 2021. Street Fighter V‘s Producer Shuhei Matsumoto and Director Takayuki Nakayama had also teased the next new project in the series, which will feature Luke.
