Bandai Namco shared more information regarding the scenario in Tales of Arise. This included a detailed synopsis of both the Dahna and Rena people, and how Dahna’s world came to be. Tales of Arise‘s story will revolve around the conflict between the Dahna and Rena people. The world of Dahna was once full of greenery and nature. However, when the Rena people arrived roughly 300 years ago, that changed everything. Now the Dahna live under the rule of the Rena people who have destroyed their land and their culture.
The Rena are described as coming from a planet where “the Gods live.” Using their advanced technology, they forced the Dahna to surrender and now govern their planet. Since their occupation of Dahna, several walls have been built over the world, which separate various areas ruled by Rena representatives.
Various resistance groups formed in some parts of Dahna, which hope to fight and push back the Rena. However, due to their conflict with the Rena, some of the people view them in a poor light.
Tales of Arise will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC on September 9, 2021 to Japanese audiences. The Western release will arrive on September 10, 2021.
