I really liked the Mystic Knight in the original game. I loved having that nice big shield, the ability to magically imbue your parries or weapons, and the Magick Cannon ability is a really cool way to add in some ranged threat. I’m even more excited to try out the Mystic Spearhand in Dragon’s Dogma 2, since I’m a long time advocate for spears and other pole-based weaponry. That said, the new additions to the greatsword wielding Warrior and arrow-slinging Archer are doing their darned’est to make me reconsider which Dragon’s Dogma or Dragon’s Dogma 2 vocation is best. — Elliot

I am also an appreciator of magick classes in Dragon’s Dogma, but for me it was the Magick Archer. Being able to get up close and personal with daggers, and sneak away from the front lines to shoot down powerful enemies with magick arrows from a distance is an incredible payoff to what could be a slow and tough beginning hours. For Dragon’s Dogma 2 I will no doubt be playing another Magick Vocation, but I am still unsure on whether I’ll go for the Mystic Spearhand or the mischievous Trickster. — Daniel
