Yoko Taro On Coming Up With Attack Names For SoulCalibur VI And What 2P’s “P” Stands For

Recommended Videos

This month’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation had a special feature with NieR: Automata developers who talked about 2B’s guest appearance in SoulCalibur VI, and a bit more on her alt color nicknamed “2P.” [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

Here are a couple tidbits from the interview:

On being in charge of 2B’s attack names

Yoko Taro: “It was more trouble than I expected. If we were going to take this opportunity to come up with names they need to sound right for the game. We came up with rules for the names to start then decided on the names from there.”

Does 2P’s P stand for anything?

Yoko Taro: “I haven’t thought about it yet. But I think it’s fine. As Whatever.”

Yosuke Saito: “Is it something like power?”

Yoko Taro: “Or Pa___nic (Panasonic).”

Takahisa Taura: “Isn’t that a bit much?”

Yoko Taro: “It’s fine, I mean they’re world-famous. So that decides it, 2P’s P stands for Pa____nic (Panasonic).”

SoulCalibur VI and NieR: Automata are available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
