When people go through Yooka-Laylee, they don’t have to play alone. There will be local cooperative multiplayer in the story mode, as well as local multiplayer arcade games in Rextro’s Arcade.
In the main campaign, a second player can work as Yooka-Laylee’s Bee Team. They will be able to grab quills and butterflies while the person controlling Yooka and Laylee plays. The second player will also be able to stop environmental traps, to help protect the primary player.
When someone heads to Rextro’s Arcade, they’ll be able to play eight arcade games either alone or with up to four players locally. Games like Blag the Flag, Glaciators, Gun-let Run, Hurdle Hijinx, Jobstacle Course, and Kartos Karting have all been announced. People will even be able to power up the Rextro’s Arcade games with play coins found during the campaign to win more pagies.
Yooka-Laylee will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 11, 2017. A Nintendo Switch version is currently in development. People who pre-order a digital copy or physical version from Amazon or GAME will receive a copy of the Yooka-Laylee Toybox.
