Even though it didn’t have a strong presence at E3 Namco Bandai Games has Tales of the Abyss scheduled for a Q4 release later this year. Abyss refines the action oriented linear motion battle system by adding in the ability to run in any direction. While battles still take place on a straight line, players can hold down L2 to freely run in any direction. The protagonist in Tales of the Abyss is Luke who is destined to make prosperity reign in Kimuelasca. The Markt Empire kidnaps Luke when he is young and the event traumatizes Luke so he loses all of his memories. Now seventeen years old Luke is back in his family’s mansion and when a woman breaks into a mansion Luke falls right into destiny’s hand.
I’ve been pumped about this game all year and now I want it even more!!
man I hope the game doesn’t have bad voices for the american version
Namco has stated that the voices and music in this trailer are not the finailzed versions that are in the game.
I just just hope it is done well and that they include some incarnation of karma.
Even though this will probably never happen, I really hope this will come out for the Gamecube. Gamecube owners need more great Tales games (and I don’t think I’ll ever get a PS2). They could do it, I mean, look at Symphonia. They released it for GCN but then made a PS2 version.
But anyways, this is one kick-arse trailer!

I can’t wait for this game to come out. The Tales series is by far one of my favorites . I’m also glad they went with this style of graphics, as opposed to those in Legendia. I just don’t like the deformed look. I have read elsewhere that this is supposed to be one of the best in the series, but you never can tell.
