Sega working on a new horror game, possibly called “The Box”?

By Spencer . December 7, 2006 . 11:06pm

Earlier today Sega released a customer survey where they begun asking people if they liked horror games. Then they followed with four possible titles: “The Sacrament”, “The Gift”, “The Box” and “Crucible” for the unnamed game. A horror game called the box? If enough people like it, it might come to pass. Sega also has a description of the unnamed Playstation 3 / Xbox 360 title as you can see below.

The description sounds generic, but Sega gives us a little more insight about the mystery game in the title descriptions past the break.

Well, The Box is too close to Silent Hill 4: The Room, The Gift is a Keanu Reeves movie, The Crucible is a play/movie, so I guess for confusion’s sake, that leaves The Sacrament…

I find this survey vague and meaningless. The game descriptions don’t tell you anything worthwhile about the possible game. I would hope most gamers base their buying decisions on the nature of the game, not the title.

The Box sounds pretty sweet. I think I’d play a game called “The Box.”
Actually, I know I would. In fact, I’m very interested in The Box.

Ah, I love the way they define each title, just in case ya didn’t know what a box was.

It actually makes sense, since the game’s about opening an evil box full of sin and corruption.

I especially hope that they give it one of those awesome secondary titles, like they do with franchises and stuff. Where there’s a colon, then the rest of it, you know?

    “The Box: Container of Evil”
    “The Box: Corrugated Corruption”

*sigh* I’ve got tons of ‘em… Better stop, though, before this comment gets too lengthy.
