North America gets Ar Tonelico in premium box package

By Spencer . December 8, 2006 . 8:07pm

Next year NIS America is releasing Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia. Ar Tonelico is an RPG with some unique elements like “Reyvateil” songs that can attack or heal. There’s also a dive system where you jump into a character to get to know them on a deeper level. It was one of the games I was looking forward to playing this year, but NIS America delayed it to spend more time localizing it. The final North American release comes with an extra bonus, a premium box release with a 52 page hardcover art book. The release also has new cover art, pictured on the left, and the original Japanese box art is on the right.

There’s another 200+ hours, I’ll never find time to fit in…. Damn you NIS. Damn you and your SRPG-loving, soulless hearts…. Now when can I pre-order?

I don’t think the game is an SRPG, it’s more like a standard turn based one. Never the less a deluxe box set is amazing. I simply can’t wait, I love all of NIS’s games.

I’m quite looking forward to this game… Any 2D RPG that comes out in the states for the PS2 I’ll buy… Not that their are many 2D RPGs for the PS2 to begin with… Only the Tales of Series comes to mind… which kicks ass if you haven’t heard! Ooo I feel a craving coming on! *goes off to play Tales of Destiny(PS2)*
