A rumor has been circulating that two of Clover Studio’s properties are coming to the Xbox 360 from a Japanese PDF on Capcom’s site. First of all the PDF is old, it’s from November 9th and it mentions nothing about Okami or God Hand coming to the Xbox 360. Instead it talks about Capcom’s distribution plans. The first paragraph mentions how Capcom is partnering with Activision to distribute titles to Oceania. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition will be the first game distributed by them followed by Okami and God Hand for the Playstation 2 in early 2007. It’s easy to mess this up if you’re using a machine translator because “God Hand” and “Big God” appear close to Xbox 360, but it isn’t true at all. False rumors aside, I love Okami and would be pretty psyched if Capcom released a sequel for any system.
I have yet to play Okami, but I’m glad I rushed out and bought it immediately once I heard that Capcom closed down Clover.
Veilknight I thought something was fishy too. Both of the games never sold well, even though they have their fans. So I read the press release in dissapointment.
As unlikely as it would be, I’d love a sequel to Okami as well, but unfortunately sales will definitely be the key factor that may prevent Capcom from ever doing so, not to mention the fact that Clover Studio has recently closed down.
I suppose you could chalk up the bad sales mostly because this game was released at the wrong time, the hype towards the Wii and PS3 was truly strong, since they were both getting close to their release dates. As a result, Okami got overlooked by all the hype and ultimately ignored by most consumers, although it was rated high by most of the press. It’s quite a shame, really; many gamers missed out on a truly unique gaming experience.
My momma always said “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything”

bah, just keep those Gyakuten Saiban DS titles coming.
I want to see Capcom make a God Hand title for the Wii. Rapid punching with the nunchuck and spanking with the Wii Remote? Win!

All things considered, a 360 port seems almost unlikely from the very beginning, considering both titles didn’t exactly set the world on fire on the PS2. Okami, without a doubt, is simply amazing and God Hand is a quirky, if somewhat repetitive at times beat-em-up which is quite enjoyable. Fans of the genre will surely get a kick out of it.
