Ryu Ga Gotoku 2 sells 500,000 copies

Sega announced that Ryu Ga Gotoku 2, the sequel to Yakuza, sold over half a million copies in Japan alone. Ryu Ga Gotoku 2 faced competition on the day of its release from Blue Dragon, but it doesn’t look like Mistwalker’s flagship game put a dent in Ryu Ga Gotoku 2’s sales. Given these sales numbers and Yakuza’s genuinely positive reaction last summer we’re probably going to see Yakuza 2 in North America.
