Hoshigami coming out for the DS?

By Spencer . February 6, 2007 . 7:40am

A weird listing appeared on GameFly, Hoshigami Remix: Ruining Blue Earth. Hoshigami is a strategy RPG with an artistic style similar to Stella Deus. Atlus published the Playstation game back in 2001 in North America, but after that the series seemed to fade away. No news about the game or info about any sequels has appeared since the PS1 release. It could be a mistake on Gamefly’s side, but it’s such an odd ball title that it doesn’t seem like it. Also Aksys has ties back to Atlus, so it’s possible for them to pull of a Hoshigami revival.

Cherry Says:

Hoshigami was awful. Everything about Stella Deus was better than Hoshigami. Why would they be porting such an awful game?

Symphony Says:

Some parts of Hoshigami were neat when it came out, maybe if it wasn’t touted as a “FFT killer” its reception would have been a little kinder. The perma-death of characters is what turned me off more than anything else.

Roli O. Says:

I actually liked Hoshigami, so hearing that it’s bound for a DS remake or what not is sort of fun. Hopefully Atlus can fix what was wrong with the PSOne version, namely heavily unbalanced levels and what not.

As for it being touted as the FFT killer, whoever dubbed that is kind of wrong. After all, Shining Force III (all three scenarios) blows FFT out of the water any day. Seriously :)
