Final Fantasy XIII: Haeresis Rumor Confirmed

Final Fantasy XIII: Haeresis Rumor Confirmed imagesAs if the never-ending milking of Final Fantasy XIII isn’t enough, a new title in the Fabula Nova Crystallis saga has been announced. FF13-europe.com reports that Final Fantasy XIII: Haeresis (Latin for Heresy) is a new entry in the FNC that doesn’t have a assigned platform or anything at all. So far, Haeresis has been patented both in Japan and the United States, but other than that there’s nothing else.

Could Haeresis be a PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii title? Better yet, could it be a PSP or DS title? Time will tell. Click here to view the patent and see for yourself. The odds of this either being a platformed entry or a collection of some sorts is unknown as well; but for now, let the endless wave of speculation and ambiguity begin.

Also, where do you think this new title in the FNC saga will end up? Me? I’d say either the DS or PSP. Either handheld could benefit from it even if the game turns out to be a spinoff/side-story; then again, the DS has Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings emoticon

I was a FF fan up to a certain point, I used to eagerly anticipate each new installment after being satisfied by the previous one. For XIII I just can't say the same (I'm not so hot on 12 and 11 Online didn't count). Aren't things just getting a lil' out of hand, w/ spin-offs like FF X-2 and FF 12 revenant wings I can understand, but simultaneous spin-offs before the main game is even out, Nomura/S-E thinks people would like FF in "any way"?

Don't get me wrong, the screen shots look sweet and I own a PS3 alrdy, so of course I want the game(s) to be good. Frankly I'm more interested in Mistwalker's upcoming Lost Odyssey and Cry On (Blue Dragon I've played and loved it), Trusty Bell, etc. Give me a reason to care again, S-E.
  • I would think the spin-offs won't see a release until after the main title in the saga, Final Fantasy XIII, is released. As to why they're constantly milking this particular Final Fantasy, who knows. I became annoyed with Square-Enix milking Final Fantasy VII even though I personally still believe Final Fantasy VII is not the greatest Final Fantasy of all time; but I guess when it comes to business, you make what sells. Final Fantasy, for many (J)RPG enthusiasts and fans, does sell, and spin-offs almost always equals more cash.

Well they know thier audience and it's amazing they weren't milking it out as much as they have. However I think they might be going a little too far this time around and putting some of the fanbase off.

Going WAY to far with this right now to me. Its like they're hoping FFXIII would be the next FFVII or something.

This is only upsetting... chances are we will never hear of a FFXIV... they might stick to this...

Since Mistwalker S-E has been making spinoff's and remakes... and there latest installment FFXII wasnt as good as it should be... Sad to say this but the days of Final Fantasy are going cold its been good for its 20 years but now im not sure ='[
  • Honestly, FFVII was never really that good...

They might be milking it a little too much, but they're not even so sure the main FNC game would sell like a million copies.

The spin-offs aren't really that great now.
They are ruining the original stories of the Final Fantasy title.

FFX-2 was great, but it just kind of made a happy ending for Yuna and the others.

S-E is kind of taking things a little too early for game promotion.
And those rumors about a Final Fantasy VIII-2 aren't real in any other way!
