Phoenix Wright 3 almost confirmed for North America?

By Spencer . April 9, 2007 . 1:58pm

4 color rebellion pointed us to a link to the Court Records forums where an additional entry in the Phoenix Wright series was discovered in the Gamecrazy system. It’s entitled "Phoenix Wright - Trials Tribu", which is speculated to be Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations. Capcom hasn’t made any announcements about Phoenix Wright’s third game coming to the DS, but you know they are going to release it. Maybe we’ll find out more during Capcom’s Gamers Day later this week and see if the September 25, 2007 release date holds true.

Too bad I would still get to play 4 first before getting a chance to play 3.

Bah, considering that the main story ended with that one, playing the 4th one before wouldn’t spoil anything, it would just make you start another arc before ending this one, kind of like playing Rockman and Rockman X.

Aoshi00 Says:

Yeah, but I still want to see how Naruhodo/Phoenix was framed and put on trail the first time on 3 before the first chapter of 4.

Also this only happens 7 years after the first series, w/ the return of many familiar faces like Akane the scientist, so it’s more like a direct continuation instead of a spinoff (same as Zeta Gundam being the straight successor of the org. Gundam compared to the other countless spinoffs). If you don’t who Phoenix is from the previous games, the first chapter of him being a bum would not have any impact on you.
