Here’s the latest trailer for Folklore available for your viewing treasure which features the game’s main song by abingdon boys school. The promotional video can also be seen on the game’s official Japanese site which has been updated with some new pictures. If this promotional video isn’t enough to get you to want to import the game, then I guess waiting for its domestic release will be good enough.

Those environments…man. Can’t get enough of them.

Wow that trailer was impressive! And… the Japanese release has English voice acting (maybe?). It’s not like that’s never been done before, but I guess that will make it much more import friendly.

I actually prefer Jpn dialogue for my import games if possible. Wonder if this is English only like Resident Evil or Devil May Cry, I dig the British accents though. Yes, the vocal (former TM Revolution) is impressive as always, great song.

BTW, this trailer seals the deal for me too in getting the import, despite the huge spoiler toward the end I would rather not now if possible.

Um, am I the only one who thought that dialogue was horribly stilted?

Anyway, It’s pretty. I’ll give you that. However, I just don’t think it’s my kind of game. As exciting as ripping souls using the sixaxis sounds, nothing really excited me about this trailer. I get the feeling most of the hype recently stems from this being one of the few RPGs coming to the PS3 right now.

  • Aoshi00

That’s partially true, guess I’m just starving for a true next gen RPG, or simply a decent game for the PS3 instead of playing demos or watching trailers w/ it. That’s why this is second on my list next to Eternal Sonata. But I’m truly impressed w/ the monsters and dark atmosphere, I hope the story lives up to expectation. Of course, I think the game is better off w/ Jpn dialogue as well, I just have a soft spot for the Queen’s English like those used in the Drakengard, everything just sounds cooler.

Is anybody else reminded of Shadow Hearts by this game? such great memories…hmmm I suddenly got a craving for this game! hope it isn’t like Genji, that game was a HUGE dissapointment; Genji and FFXII are singlehandely responsible for killing my interest in games since January…..Oblivion, Hotel Dusk 215, and Tales of the Abyss have failed in pulling me in again….i’m hoping Odin Sphere and this kind of games revive my love for videogames!

  • Aoshi00

That was exactly my first impression, the dark atmosphere totally reminded me of Shadow Hearts, but in retrospect this game seems to be void of the interesting characters the SH series is adored for. I still don’t know what to make of the game’s premise, seems intriguing enough.. I alrdy pre-ordered it so I guess I’ll find out in June (I pray they would have Jpn dialogue, the trailer is discouraging in this respect).

FFXII definitely has struck a blow in my interest in RPGs, I’ve been more busy w/ the DS for a while. Can’t wait till picking up Odin Sphere tmw.
