Namco Bandai placates Tales fans with four games

Two new, two old. Tales for (nearly) everyone. For Sony consoles Namco Bandai has Tales of Destiny: Director’s Cut on the Playstation 2 and Tales of Rebirth heading to the PSP in early 2008. Tales of Rebirth was released on the Playstation 2 early in the console’s life cycle and it looks like the PSP game is going to be a PS2 to PSP port.

Nintendo gets the new stuff, Tales of Innocence on the DS this winter and a new game in the Tales of Symphonia series for the Wii in spring ‘08. Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosuku (temporary name) looks quite different from Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube. The slick looking cel-shaded graphics were replaced with basic polygons. The single screenshot may not be the shining moment for the Wii’s first Tales game, but all it needs is good motion control and multiplayer to be a hit with fans.

Hurray! Not only are they making a new (and better looking) Tales game for the DS, but there’s a SEQUEL to ToS in the works for the Wii?! Tell me I’m not dreaming?

Hopefully this bodes well for more JRPGs coming to Wii and that we’ll see them released in the US.

Tales of Rebirth for the PSP? I knew Namco-Bandai would get around to porting it to the PSP (hopefully with nice new features) eventually. Now I can play as Veigue on the go.

well i hope this means at least some games will come to the europe (only eternia came after symphonia)
tales of symphonia sequel is a disappointment, when it comes to getting rid of cell shading… but id like to see tales of rebirth coming outside japan as its supposed to be the best :)

I’m really glad the new tales of games are coming to DS and Wii… Seeing as I don’t have a PS3 nor do I have a 360.
