Chibi Robo: Park Patrol cancelled? Golin Harris comments

By Spencer . July 31, 2007 . 11:52pm

chibirobopp.jpgWe heard the rumor that Gamestop / EB Games cancelled pre-orders of Chibi Robo: Park Patrol and to get to the bottom of this I sent an e-mail over to Golin Harris who takes care of Nintendo’s PR for additional information. Here’s what I got back:

We’ve seen the same and we’re not aware of any changes to the launch date of Chibi Robo.  So, unless Nintendo tells us otherwise, it’s still on track as outlined at E3.

On Nintendo’s press page they have the release date as Chibi Robo: Park Patrol September 24. However, the game is missing from Nintendo.com, Gamestop and Best Buy’s database. Also Gamefly changed the release date for Chibi Robo: Park Patrol to TBD instead of September 24. The signs aren’t good, but I’m hoping that Chibi Robo’s latest adventure appears outside of Japan, even if it is subject to a delay.

Update: Nintendo.com has a page up for Chibi Robo: Park Patrol with a new date, October 2nd. This is an indication that Chibi Robo has been at the very least delayed.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in and shared their personal stories!
