Singstar bundled with PS2s, will casual gamers bite?

Millions of people already have Playstation 2s, but Sony plans to sell more with a package geared towards the casual gamer. The Singstar PS2 bundle comes with a ceramic white slim PS2, one controller, Singstar Pop and two USB microphones. The price is fairly competitive too; it’s only $20 more than a standalone PS2 at $149.99.

Gamers who have moved on to their PS3s, Wiis and 360s are likely to shun this. However, the low price makes it attractive to a Wii owner looking for their next foray into the world of video games. Also the color of the two systems match and I’m sure someone will buy a ceramic white PS2 because of that reason alone.

I reckon that it will only increase the already fantastic sales for titles like this. It offers more of an incentive for people that haven’t gotten into the franchise yet or whom don’t own a PS2. It looks very nice too.
