Shiren sequel comes to the Wii

Seeing Fushigi no Dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren’s DS remake should have been the first clue to another Shiren installment. Chunsoft has plans to make a sequel for the Wii, Fushigi no Dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren 3, and it looks great. The formula is rogue-like with a new system where you drop an item in a square and come back to pick up a more powerful version of it. Sega is going to publish the game in Japan sometime next year.

Hmm… Sega is working on this too? That adds credibility to the rumor about Sega localizing the DS game as Mysterious Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. If Sega plans to bring out Shiren, they are likely to test the waters with the DS game and then bring the Wii game over if it sells enough.

The monsters kind of remind me of Rocky & Pocky, a next gen one looking like that would be cool..
