Even though I'm not a big fan of Treasure games. I'm still looking forward to trying Sin and Punishment to see what all the fuss is about. I'd also like to see them bring over a little Capcom gem for the NES called Suito Homu (Sweet Home), and both Earthbound games released for Europe would be nice too.

Good news, now if only they'd translate the never released japanese fire emblems... I'd be a happy camper (oh, and Chrono Trigger, FF6 and Mario RPG for Europe)

"and Punch Out featured Mr.Dream at the end."

No, that was part of the NES reissue edition - Nintendo re-released Punch-Out, but didn't have the license for Mike Tyson anymore, so they replaced him with Dream.

@ Mark - Yeah, Battle Lode Runner was the first Japanese game to pop up on the virtual console, but there weren't any localization changes since the minimal text was in English. Sin & Punishment will need new menus, which means Nintendo has to do editing. It wouldn't be the first time this happened though, WaveRave 64 got new graphics and Punch Out featured Mr.Dream at the end.

Sin & Punishment seemed the one modern game that came to many people's minds when we first heard about the virtual console. If this story's true ( and I hope it is ) it would be a step forward on Nintendo's behalf making good of that original promise. Probably the only reason it never came to North America to begin with, aside from being late in N64's life, was probably the name. Which some people still think means it's a game about S&M. It has a hell of alot more to do with Ikaruga than S&M.
