Leaked? Star Ocean 4 is for the Playstation 3?

Pedro Silva’s comment in the last Star Ocean article prompted some research. He mentioned that Star Ocean 4 was for the Playstation 3, but no corresponding article had the news. After doing a little digging on 2chan it looks like Game|Watch was the source. However, they revised their article and omitted the Playstation 3 reference. See the difference in the text? This could have been an error in the original draft or it could have been a hastily patched up leak. You decide!

God damn it. When will the age of console-exclusives finally end? It's like all the good RPG companies got together and conspired to force me to spend $1200 on consoles.

I think it's a given now, still, I remember hearing a few months ago in Square-Enix Party 2007(?) event that SO4 was exclusive but that could still change. I wouldn't be surprised if PS3 doesn't pick-up in US a X360 version is a possibility; perhaps they're keeping it easy to port.

This team even has experience with X360, they've done project sylpheed and and are doing Infinite Undiscovery for it.

Shame, I wanted it on other platform but I understand it must have been in development for some time now, so like FFXIII and MGS4 it is decisions that were taken long ago... I'd like to see this change in the future.

@Pichi - Yeah, I don't know what to believe if it's misinformation or if Square-Enix asked them to fix it up. I guess we'll have to wait until TGS to find out the bottom line.
