If you’re living in Japan and have a bunch of Club Nintendo points to spend check out the new free stuff you can snag. For 250 points you can get a DS purse or pick up a remote stand for 150 points. There is also a new expensive item on the list, the Star Ten Billion puzzle (pictured in the center). A ten billion puzzle was originally sold in the 1980s and this prize is a redesigned version of it. For me the most appealing thing on the list is Zekkyou Senshi: Sakeburein, a Club Nintendo exclusive DS game where you shout commands in the DS’ micophone to control Power Ranger like characters. Originally, it looked like Zekkyou Senshi: Sakeburein was only going to be available for a limited time, but it’s now a normal item in the shop.
and we in europe? waiting for stars catalogue points conversion into wii points for almost a year now.
Ugh… I spent my points IMMEDIATELY because Zekkyou Senshi: Sakeburein…. So Spencer, did you ever get it?
@Josh - I have enough points to get it, so I’m going to place an order in soon.
I’m looking forward to reading your coverage on Zekkyou Senshi: Sakeburein, Spencer. This title’s focus on voice recognition actions through the DS microphone has really sparked my interest. If nothing more I imagine it makes for an entertaining romp. And if at all possible, I’d really like to see the game in action through a video as well.
Thing is, above all previous Club Nintendo games, with the right marketing I could actually see this game selling fairly well in North America. Not only for its quirky factor alone, something I personally like to look out for in DS titles, but simply due to the case of being heavily influenced by Super Senshi shows such as Power Rangers.
With that series striving popularity and strong fanbase, and especially because there really hasn’t been a decent Power Rangers game in years, I’d say there’s definitely an audience for this game. Even if Nintendo were still cautious of the title’s sales, like Atlus before them, at the very least they should run a limited press run for Zekkyou Senshi: Sakeburein, just as long as I can get my hands on the game.
For some reason my message was cut. The reason I IMMEDIATELY bought the game was because it was only supposed to be available for that one month, (August I think?) they held preorders for it. But that’s probably really obvious
Seconded on NOA’s lackadaisical attitude towards product registration incentives. What really did we ever get? That one Zelda Collector’s disk and a fairly dopey Metroid Prime 2 demo.
Maybe with George Harrison leaving we might get something better? What potential! Maybe we’ll get the Tingle game, Legendary Starfi and Mother 3 too! Ha ha haaaaaaaa….
Anyway, the coolest thing, just from looking at the box for the Power Ranger-ish game, is that they seem to be based on Mario characters….

Ugh, Japan gets all the cool stuff. I’ve registered all my games with Nintendo of America and what do I get? Just 3 lousy months of Nintendo power.
