D3′s simple to understand Simple Wii series line up

By Spencer . October 5, 2007 . 3:05pm

We mentioned that D3 Publisher’s budget video game series was moving to the Wii some time ago. Kart racing and fishing are the first two games in the series, which is set to debut in October. Afterwards Japan gets two Simple Wii games every other month. Out of the six games only The Shooting Action piqued my interest since it sounds like light gun style game.

Here are the six titles:

October 25, 2007

The Minna de Kart Race

The Minna de Bass Tsuri Taikai

December 2007

The Party Casino

The Shooting Action

February 2008

The Block Kuzushi

The Wai Wai Combat

Do any of these interest you?

Maybe not surprisingly, I love the Simple 2000 series. I mean, my favorite PS2 game is a Simple 2000 game (Earth Defense Force 2). As usual with games like these, you’ve gotta dig through some crap to find the gems, but there’s plenty of good stuff to be found. And come on, where else are you gonna find a game where you mow down zombies in a heavily armored ambulance? Zombie vs Ambulance rocks. Not to mention Oneechanbara. Zombies, blood, and girls in bikinis. What else do you need, really?

actually, i think the shooting action may be a port of double shineryu. possibly.
    making it a shmup.
but thats just basing it off of Gekioh the Shooting for ps2. gekioh? i think its gekioh.

I’m pretty sure Gekioh was just the US name for Shienryu, which was released in the US for the PS1.

The Wai Wai Combat sounds just mysterious enough to pique my interest.

double shineryu was for the ps2, and had the original in it as well.
which i guess would mean that it had gekioh and gekioh 2.
    technically.
    i think.
