Microsoft buys up billboard space in Japan

Since Halo 3 is out the door, Microsoft is beginning to push Lost Odyssey and Ninja Gaiden II in Japan. Outside above Softmap in Akihabara is an eye catching billboard ad with both games. Will an advertisement like this do anything? Maybe. It’s in the place where gamers shop in Tokyo, but it’s not nearly as attention grabbing as the constant commercials Square-Enix ran for Crisis Core in Shibuya.

Can't say I find the main character of Lost Odyssey too likable.. wonder what the US box art would look the same or have a different/better design.

I just noticed the new billboard last night. It's funny you know, with that ad, and with the constant Halo 3 and Ace Combat 6 commercials on TV, not to mention the street front signage for Halo 3, to to casual observer, it could easily appear as though Microsoft was winning the console war in Japan.

I've only been here for 7 weeks, but I've seen more 360 commercials than pretty much everything else combined.
