Train the ultimate kickboxer on your DS

D3 Publisher snapped up the rights to the K-1 World Grand Prix, a kickboxing tournament with fighters from around the world. The obvious game design solution is to make it a fighting game and call it a day. D3 is going a step further with their DS game, you get to train your fighter before he steps into the ring. Through a series of menus you pick exercises and build up his stats before facing a rival. There is fighting in this too with an unusual system where you pinpoint hits using a touch screen menu. I guess this is more of a simulation than a two player fighting game and that makes K-1 World Grand Prix for the DS noteworthy.
