Tank combat reverts to the second dimension

The Simple DS Series Vol. 31: The Chou-Dangan!! Custom Sensha superficially shares similarities with Metal Slug, minus the whole running on foot comical Contra gameplay. Since you’re always in a tank, you are stuck on the ground and that makes the lite shmup elements interesting to tackle. How do you get yourself out of the pictured situation in a hulking tank that can’t jump?  If you manage to get through the missiles, without the gift of flight, you can customize your tank with new guns and armor. D3 Publisher is releasing this on January 31, 2008 in Japan and since its part of their Simple series it is cheap enough to entice curious gamers.
