Watch – Eternal Sonata on the Playstation 3

Eternal Sonata came out on the Xbox 360 in September and shortly afterwards we found out Japan is getting a Playstation 3 version with extra content. The Playstation 3 trailer makes it a point to show Crescendo and Serenade as playable characters. They are a strong selling point, but not for me. I’m not about to buy a second copy of the game to extend Chopin’s dream. However, if Namco Bandai sells a patch for a reasonable price I’ll happily pick it up.

Is it sad that I recognize that as Aya Hirano’s voice?

Yes. Polka was the worst character, I thought. In every single cutscene she looked and sounded like she were about to cry. ;p

I wish to try the game in English and the PS3 version is probably the only option for me since neither a patch from Jpn or the US would work w/ my Jpn copy in the US. So w/ two extra playable characters justifies the price for me.

As for Hirano Aya, I think she’s one of the most talented young seiyuu in recent years (keep in mind I have not watched any Suzumiya Haruhi), reminds me of Yokoyama Chisa (Sakura in Sakura Taisen). I don’t think one would sound so bubbly knowing she’s dying and being hated by everyone for using magic.
