Compile Heart’s Phoenix manga explained

You don’t get all twelve volumes of manga on one DS cart. Compile Heart is splitting Hi no Tori into three separate cartridges, each one costs 4,179 yen ($37). To read Hi no Tori you drag a reading window on the bottom screen and glance up to see a magnified image. It’s intuitive, but it doesn’t appear as user friendly as DS Bungaku Zenshuu. Along with volumes of the manga, Compile Heart is including DVD-lite extras like character profiles as part of the package. While I’m genuinely intrigued by Compile Heart’s Read on DS series I can’t imagine it being a smash hit at that price. If each game cost around 2500 yen, the price of a Simple series game it would be much more appealing.

What a rip-off… the cheaper Bungaku DS has 100 famous novels. I must admit it’s not as fun to read books in the digital format after trying it, even if accompanied by the sound of flowing river or summer cicada chirping, I suppose the manga would come w/ some sound effects.

A Berserk compilation, please! (I know is not gonna happen, but still)
