The visual in Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit look gorgeous, but the Jump Fiesta trailer only shows characters from the first story arc. It looks like Namco Bandai is going to take us through the whole DBZ story line… again. While I’m sure some fans will be excited to replay the Saiyan Saga with PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360 quality graphics, I’m content to wait for Dragon Ball Z: Beyond Burst Limit Budokai that includes hundreds of non canon characters.

What will happen to Wii owners, though? Surely, they won't leave them out of the spirit bomb loop, but if they continue the Dragon Ball Z Sparkling / Budokai Tenkaichi series Burst Limit's character roster may not be so appealing.

Looks impressive, the jump in graphics is liked the first PS2/GC game. Frankly I'm not a big fighter fan myself, I would love to see them use this kind of graphics to do a next-gen RPG, like Super Saiya Legend for the Super Famicom, at least that would be more fresh than the constant fighters being updated every year..

One thing I like about the Jpn cast is they're consistent throughout the entire series. But Vegeta's seiyuu definitely sounds older by now.. and Tenshinhan has been replaced as the original voice actor (Suzuoki Hirotaka) passed away last year from cancer, god rest his soul.

I'm glad the PS3 ver isn't region locked and 360 almost always has dual language option.

If Bill Gates bought every Dragon Ball game that came out, he'd be broke.

Dragon Ball was very fun 6 years ago ;/
  • TacoBeaver
well now I guess there will be BT4 and only for Wii
    YAY
  • TacoBeaver
They should have a Spanish option cuz in Latin America its very popular (well, BT4 should have 1)

by the way I think it only covers till Android saga HAHAHA

Hmmm. Sorta with I had a PS3/360 for this, even though I am getting sick of Anime fighters, regardless of how pretty they are or how good they play. I want a Good Action adventure game, or even an RPG, that is maybe non-canon and doesn't make me play throug hte same stuff I have seen 100 times("Son Gohan: The Great Saiyaman Chronicles" GTA style, Go to school by day, blast the hell out of enemies in afternoon. Generic evil alion race invades sometimes, Demons invade other times)

    (A little Rant)
Looking at Goku and Radits get blasted by Piccilo and seeing smoke only, I just want a game (in General) that is as bloody as its manga counterparts, or even anime counterparts. Do Shonen games really need to be Rated Cero A(just about every series I play/watch is that)? Does having a B or C really affect sales that much(I'd understand a D or Z effecting sales)?

C'mon Ubisoft, Buy Bleach rights for the 360 and make it as bloody as hell
  • Aoshi00
@ryne11: I have the same problem as well, not that I like violence, but the no blood takes a lot of credibility away, it's like John Smith getting shot in Pocahontas, "look ma, no blood", I mean we're not 5 year-olds.. But this doesn't limit to games as well, even anime the game is based on. Am I the only one who's bothered by how stupid the black blood looks in the recent Bleach anime, it's like they're robots leaking oil :(... used to be red during the Soul Society arc, gushing left and right (and boy were those fights exciting). DBZ that aired over 10 years ago was bloody too. I think Jpn is more strict w/ their shows aired in prime time now...

And yes, I'm sick of all the fighter sequels, same w/ Naruto, the GNTs are fun at first, but I could only take so much, that's why the last DBZ one I played was Sparkling.. but w/ this one looking this good, I wouldn't mind picking it up. And why aren't they making a RPG is good RPG is beyond me, not like the GBA ones..

Seeing the end of this trailer, I still remember Goku's "Bakayarou" to Freeza just like yesterday, watched it when I was in grade school, great stuff.

Son Goku's voice is so high... Holy crap, I never realized how high his seiyuu's voice was O_o
  • Heero420
Ya i don't understand why the blood turned from bright red to black in bleach i guess once you hit a certain power level your blood turns black lol...But im glad i never played a dbz game before couse this one looks hot (well the last one i played was like the 3rd snes fighter ^_^ )
  • ChrisUlt
YAY. It's a intense 2D fighter with georgous visuals.

I don't know about a new Dragon Ball Z game on Wii. Like you said, continuing Budokai Tenchachi will make the character roster unappealing. Maybe a 3D action-adventure game?
  • TacoBeaver
by the way if its a 2D fighter then it would be like Budokai 1(which I have and even though I have BT3 I still play) only that with more characters, "Improved Graphics" and better story (which I doubt cuz even though it only gets to Cell Saga it includes every fight except the ones with the ginyu force except Ginyu and Recoome)
    and...
    ONLY TIL CELL SAGA SUCKERS

what will happen to Wii owners... I dunno, but this game clearly isn't coming from spike, and they wouldn't have the resources to do it (since they had split the teams in two, one for PS2 and another for Wii)

This is probably Dimps, who did Budokai series until the third installment and then gone silent.

Spike... I hope next year there's more for the Wii, but hopefully without a PS2 version so they can really upgrade it graphically.

"This is probably Dimps, who did Budokai series until the third installment and then gone silent."

Probably? It's already been confirmed on the official Burst Limit site that Dimps is the developer. (The confirmation is on the blog.) Also, Dimps didn't go silent, they worked on Shin Budokai 1+2.

    :-p

My bad on the double post but i haven't played any of the new dbz games and i don't know if the original music is in them but it better be in this one ^_^ (movie4 dubbed was better with disturbed but still)
  • SS Majin trunks
Not bad, luks pretty good, but the whole starting from the cell saga, is not such a good idea, i still would prefer a new tenlkaichi game like tenkaichi 4!!!
  • Hitokiri
Hey, don't say that burst limit's roster will go unnoticed if sparking/budokai tenkaichi is continued to 4. I personally think that the BT series sucks ass because of its lack of ability to create your own unique combos. fighting style like you can in most fighting games. In BT, it's just the attacks they give you which are basically pretty generic since all of the characters basically have the same special attacks/finisher combos (the triangle buttons use I mean to end combos with something fancy). At least in the original 3 Budokais everyone fought differently and stood different and had a unique sense of feeling when being played as. I know I for one would MUCH rather see the Budokai series continued than the BT series. If it came down to contests on which you (I) would buy, I would take this newer version of the Budokai series a.k.a. DBZ Burst Limit.
P.S. On top of everything I've just said....Budokai Tenkaichi's graphics have always looked like shit.... I only play the games because I'm a loyal DBZ fan.

They should definately make this game (or at least an equivelent) for the wii. the wii has an amazing graphics proccessor and the control system could be used to make something totally exhilerating. and i think maybe the creators should get their hands on some of this dbz-af series stuff. those comics and characters are very interesting and could be taken all the way. seriously, if ur a devoted fan, go to http://ui07.gamespot.com/102/268788af2_2.jpg

and look at the ssj5 character design for goku. its amazing. then search dragon ball z-af on google. their are some amazing ideas
