Atlus planning a Persona 3 FES announcement?

I can’t take credit for any of this work because all of the research was done by QBasic (huge thanks!!) who pointed me to an unusual countdown on the Atlus’ homepage. To an untrained eye the flash of light could be for anything, but QBasic sent over a picture from the Persona 3 opening which looks strikingly similar to the banner. About fifty seconds in you can see the image he conveniently sent over. Add this clue to the two voice actor leaks and signs are we’re getting Persona 3 FES. Probably. We’ll know for sure in seven days.

AH! I think you're right! That or they're announcing they're re-releasing Persona 3... man would that be... underwhelming ;).

If this turns out to be the case, I'm gonna have to finish Persona 3!

if by buggy you mean the comments show up after a couple of minutes, that's normal. mine sometimes get stuck "in moderation" and I have to ask Spencer to unblock them. Also we really need an edit function.

Gotcha about the comment system. After the redesign I think the next thing we'll look at is some kind of login system. :)

Oh, God, Spencer (and QBasic)... you've made my night. I was just thinking about Persona 3 for some reason. My only concern for the US audience is if Atlus will have to censor one of the new bosses... it's a, um, phallus on a chariot. It's probably not too obvious, but y'know. Violence = fine, Sex = OMGWTFBBQ media frenzy.

I'm with Jeffx, Atlus can have my wallet. I'm already commiting to buying R-Type Tactics and Arcana Heart. May possibly buy Rondo of Swords and Baroque (PS2, god I love Sting games).

I truly hope Fes, Yggdra Union (PSP), and Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 1+2 (PS2) will be localized in 2008.

Ok, so what is Persona 3 FES? Is this a completely new game based in the Persona 3 universe, or is it a better/enhanced version of Persona 3? I just bought a copy of Persona 3, but I haven't opened it yet. If FES is an enhanced version of Persona 3, I guess I'll be returning it.

Man I was just thinking last night about how it'd been awhile since I'd heard anymore about the possibility of us getting FES. After Baroque was announced, I figured we'd hear something soon if at all, and I'd just about given up hope. Even when I saw the Baroque article here just now, I sadly thought of us not getting FES.

SteveJ, FES is an expansion/Extended version of Persona 3. In Japan it was released both as a standalone expansion (in which case you needed Persona 3 to have a save file I believe) and a 'director's cut' of sorts, which included both the original game (with some new contents) and the expansion. So even if this IS the announcement for a localized FES, the question will still remain which version we will get (unless they announce that at the same time of course).

Thanks. Sounds like I should hold onto, but not open my sealed P3 until we find out what version of FES we're going to get.

ATLUS hasnt disappointed me yet... hey u can have my retirement cash if it means localizing more Megaten games

I saw that RPGamer image as well, and wondered whether it was official or if someone made it. Not that at this juncture I believe it's NOT Fes, it just seemed a little 'too obvious'.
