I completely agree with Gromit (though I think Dewy is a tiny bit better than Elebits, but both are the best Wii games)

The Wii would be the better choice for a sequel, from a gamer’s point of view.
All they need to do is stabilized the frame rate. Dewy runs at 60FPS with tons of stuff on screen and was developed by the same team, so it’s possible.

On the DS, aside from graphical problems, controls could go from intuitive to complicated, which might hurt the game.

Still, a sequel to (one of the best) current gen games makes me excited. C'mon Konami, more Shingo Mukaitoge games!

Elebits is my absolute favorite game for Wii (and that includes Mario Galaxy, Zelda, etc.). I logged a hundred hours on Elebits, playing levels over and over to try to maximize scores and collect all of the items. So naturally I'm excited to play a sequel on any platform... But I'd sure prefer they release it for Wii. Will we really be able to see the Elebits well enough on the tiny DS screen? I'm not confident the fun will transition over completely.

I just bought Dewy's the other day for 10$ and I'm now actively looking for (a cheap copy of) Elebits. If this is a proper sequel and not a port, I might get the DS version as well.

Looks like I'll be picking this up, though it's a shame it didn't sell as well on the Wii. It was one of my favorite titles after having first bought the system.
