Guinness Book of World Records…the video game?

guinness_world_records_2007.jpg File this one under the "Last thing you ever thought would get a video game adaptation" category: According to Gamefly, WB Games will be publishing a Guinness Book of World Records video game for the Wii and DS. No other details of the game are known at this point, other than the fact that Gamefly has the game categorized as a Strategy/Sim game, and that it has a tentative release date of 10/30/08. Now this just BEGS the question…just how do you make a video game out of the Guinness Book of World Records? I'm honestly stumped on this one…Readers, do you have any ideas on just how something like this could possibly work?

Charlie Says:

It probably would be like a mini-game. You have a set “previous record” and you use the Wii’s motion sensing/DS touchscreen to go about breaking these records.

Thores Says:

Or, it could just be yet another “non-game”. You hold the DS like a book and use the touch screen to browse through an archive of various world records, having access to various pictures and videos of mentioned records being achieved. There would also be a few related minigames for when looking up these things gets boring.

QBasic Says:

First one to grow the longest fingernails in the game wins.

TacoBeaver Says:

you try to break the records in minigames maybe

Pedro Silva Says:

useless.

what next? Yellow Pages the videogame?

Nymo Says:

I wonder if Ripley’s Believe It Or Not will also step up to the video game plate as well…

nika Says:

thores might be right. I can’t think of anything else either. except for maybe a collection of lousy minigames. In that case I prefer the “non-game”.

@Pedro Silva: ahahaha, that sounds awsome! xD

Irrelevant Says:

It could be a quiz game in which you have to answer questions based on specific types of categories.
