Konami developing Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia?

t_ce.jpgAll we have is a name, well a name and a logo, from the US trademark database for Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. I doubt Konami registered this for laughs so this is probably the name for a new Castlevania game. Could this be the Castlevania game for the Nintendo DS Igarashi-san hinted at?

Just to throw this in for discussion “Ecclesia” is a Greek term for a gathering of citizens. Usually it’s linked to theology and now vampire hunters.

  • Well, at least the name is a nice change of pace from the usual "Castlevania: *blank* of *blank".
  • Angelous
Hopefully it's about the fatefull 1999 battle...
  • Psycho-Gaze
Hm, "gathering of citizens" makes me think of Legion. Could the boss have a bigger role in this?
  • They're probably using it because it's religious sounding. The Japanese don't always use western religious terms correctly (almost always don't), but like to use them.
  • Funktion
It's probably the title of a new mobile game. The last Castlevania game for cellphones was called Castlevania: Order of Shadows.
  • Zoordo
This means No Stolen Seal then?
  • Semianonymous
this actually adds evidence to the leaked shots. The leaked shots titles have the same metalish effect.
    @Zoordo
Remember that we got Portrait of Ruin and Dawn of Sorrow, and Japan got Gallary of labaryth and curse of the blue crescent moon, respectively. Stolen Seal could be the jap name

"ecclesia" is also a Greek word that translates into church
  • darkmaster08
What happened between Leon Belmont and Sonia Belmont?
  • "Ecclesia" is used in the Bible for the word "church".
