Konami grooves with a new rhythm game or localizes Pop ‘n Music?

popmusic.jpgWith so many Bemani brands it’s refreshing to think Konami might be trying something totally new. Actually, they are with Jubeat, which feels like an evolution of Pop ‘n Music.

Speaking of Pop ‘n Music I thought Konami might be localizing it as Beat’n Groovy when I heard about the trademark, both titles are something 'n something.

However, it now looks like Beat’n Groovy might be a brand new game. The OFLC has a rating for it as a multiplatform title developed by Voltex, the same company working on Frogger II. Perhaps, more telling is the country of origin for Beat’n Groovy, it isn’t Japan. The OFLC filing and likely place of development is the USA.
