I know the trademark sounds really similar to the Last Remnant, but Square Enix spent so much money on marketing the Last Remnant as an international game I just can't imagine them changing the name of it. Also they trademarked the Last Remnant awhile ago. Now the Torneko connection though.. that's brilliant! Enix did publish Torneko and it is tied into the whole Dragon Quest universe too. Hmm...
