Two additional Tales told by Namco Bandai

More Tales games? I can’t believe it! In addition to Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World and Tales of Vesperia we know about two portable Tales games coming out in Japan this year thanks to magazine clippings by Pesmerga00 (thanks!!). Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 even shares a connection with the Xbox 360 Tales game. Both of them have Yuri Lowell, the male lead in Vesperia. Judging from the screenshot Presea (Tales of Symphonia) and Veigue (Tales of Rebirth) will also be in the PSP game. Something interesting is the scan clearly says Tales of World: Radiant Mythology 2 in English. I don’t want to get my hopes up, but when Namco Bandai announced the predecessor the logo was entirely in katakana.

DS owners get their yearly Tales game, but Tales of Heart looks atypical compared to the rest of the series. Shing, the male, and Kohaku, the female, look like they stepped out of Final Fantasy rather than an anime. I guess Tales of Heart has to do something unusual, three anime styled Tales games are enough for one year.

Partial scans from Shonen Jump.

I've lost count... and interest, frankly. Tales of Destiny for the PSX was and still is the best. Don't get me wrong, I'm picking up the new Wii one in the Fall.
  • Hello Hello
I'd be excited for Tales of Hearts but it's on the DS, and Namco Bandai America doesn't localize DS Tales games.

Bamco needs to realize they will never become a mega big distributer, and start selling games in smaller increments like Atlus or NIS.

Radiant Mythology 2, sweet. I'll be picking that up if it is better than 1...

Tales of Heart, for the DS!? Oh yes! Another DS Tales game that wont be translated. Huzzah. I've given up on playing Tales on my DS, as they enjoy never releasing them here in Canada. :/ And the characters look kinda cool... BAH!

Radiant Mythology 2, niiiice. The first one was a good amount of fun, so even if hasn't improved much I'll be getting it.

The DS game looks odd for a Tales game though. I hope this will be the only one with such an art change, I like the typical Tales look. I'll be sure to keep an eye on it though =)

bastards, namco still has to bring Innocence over. and the CGI just plain sucks
  • Mikael
I agree Pedro, horrible CGI character models..
I am not sure if I would give Tales of the World a chance again even if I enjoyed it, it seems monster hunter has more for it in terms of mission based quest than tales of the world that felt rather shallow even if the humour was great,
