8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog races to the Virtual Console

sonic1.jpgDid you know Sonic the Hedgehog also came out for the Sega Master System? After Sonic became a hit on the Genesis Sega quickly released an 8-bit port for the Master System. The ESRB just rated Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Master System for the Wii which probably means it will be an upcoming Virtual Console release. Nostalgic Sonic fans are the core audience for this since we the technologically more advanced Sega Genesis version of Sonic the Hedgehog has been around since the Wii launched. Perhaps Sega will release Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Master System for 400 Wii Points ($4) and cut the curious a break.

Also in the Virtual Console pipeline is Splatterhouse 2 which the ESRB gave a mature rating to. Japan got Splatterhouse 2 at the beginning of this month so we should be seeing a release in North America in the near future.

Ha the sonic game for 400points? No way they know this will sell, i'd be suprised if they didn't push the price up to 600.

This is yet another pointless waste of space on the Virtual Console. But I guess it doesn't matter since I don't have any space to download anymore. Lack of good releases and lack of space = money saved.
