More details on Riz-zoawd’s touch screen trackball

riz.jpgMedia Vision made an unorthodox decision when they decided players should move Dorothy with a virtual trackball. This was shown in a Riz-zowad trailer, but D3 Publisher came forward with additional information about how the trackball works. You roll it forward to make Dorothy run. If she moves too fast you can tap the center of the trackball to make Dorothy stop in her tracks. See the two arrows on the bottom of the touch screen? These are used to make her turn left or right so you can run in the right direction. It doesn’t look like there is a standard D-pad control option. Love it or hate it, you’re stuck with the touch screen trackball.

A dog icon, likely to represent Toto, can also be seen on the right hand side. Hmm… I wonder what this does. Could it make Toto search for things?

Sounds very limiting.. they should’ve given us free rein like Zelda Phantom Hourglass or Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. This and Dragonball have to be the best looking DS games so far, well Ninja Gaiden and ASH (the pre-rendered part) too. I like the turn-based battles though, can’t wait.

Hey Aoshi00, include Sigma Harmonics! =P Final Fantasy IV looked awesome too… as well as Nintendogs =X

3D aside, I think Subarashiki Kono Sekai (The World Ends With You) is one of the best-looking 2D DS games…

wouldn’t it be more locigal the if you roll the trackball left or right dorothy would change in that direction? instead of using buttons for that.

Sounds like a MAJOR pain but… well I’m still interested.
    Fingers and toes are crossed.

    Graphics seem like Avalon Code.
