Dragon Quest IX actually coming out in 2008?

dq9A game like Dragon Quest IX usually has a prelude of previews months before it launches. We haven’t heard Square Enix or Level 5 say much about the game and supposedly it’s coming out sometime this year. Square Enix’s TGS 2008 page for Dragon Quest IX sticks the title with a 2008 release window and there aren’t many months left in the year.

Back in February Yoichi Wada, president of Square Enix, said Dragon Quest IX was almost done so there is a small chance this could happen. Also in the same interview he also said Square Enix wouldn’t rush the game out the doors. Level 5’s Dragon Quest IX page has a 2008 release window too, but that hasn’t been updated in ages. Hmm…

This is kind of off-topic, but remember reading that SE was going to start developing in all regions at the same time, right around the announcement of DQ9. So far this hasn’t happened with other games. I was hoping that DQ9 was going to be released everywhere. So yeah, DQ9 might come out in Japan this year and everywhere else will have to wait 1 to 1 1/2 year(s) before it hits for rest of us. just an observation.
