Well, we should wait to see which games get included (and extras ?) and for how much before making any judgments... Still, the VC has the advantage of being able to buy the games individually in case you don´t care about all of them, and you can even combine them with the GC collections (or not) in order to get the best deal for what you want. It´s not something that the Wii really needs.

Besides, Sega has been great to the Wii so far, with now a 2nd exclusive Sonic coming while still getting a port of Unleashed (not to mention their other non-Sonic games coming).

You are the not the only one. I am tired of Genesis game after Genesis game. Not that there are not a lot of good ones but I think the majority have already been released at least a few times. It is time for Sega to get to work on some arcade collections. Considering how large their catalogue is I would love to see something pretty exhaustive. At least of their pre-Model 1 stuff. The only thing that stinks is that on some like After Burner 2 the best part is the huge interactive cabinet.

@Chris: Actually, you could. You have to unlock them though. Sonic 1 & Knuckles - play Sonic 1 and 3d Blast 20 times each (just load them up and quit), Sonic 2 & Knuckles - play Sonic 2 and Spinball 20 times each, Sonic 3 & Knuckles - play Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles 20 times each.

@Hero of legend

It has more to do with the fact that they can get more money out people using the VC. Sure it is obviously a rip off. The cost of putting the games up is a fraction for the publisher and the cost per title is higher for the consumer. It makes little sense but unfortunatly the public has shown that it is willing to get screwed for just a little convience. It is the same reason why gas stations charging $2.50 for a loaf of bread still exist when I can get the same load for $0.79 at the local big box store. The only problem here is that the same people own both means of distribution. Given this why bother to sell it for $3-$4 a game and give a person something they own when you can sell it for twice the price and give the consumer no form of control over the content they already purchased?

I hope this won't be more than a combination of Mega and Gems collection, so that Wii owners won't feel screwed.
Otherwise this would be a big mistake, as both the 360 and Wii have Sonic games on their online services.

So why give the game to the 360 over the Wii in this case? PS3 I can understand though...

You'd think Sega would learn to NOT screw Wii owners out of a Sonic game. >:(

My biggest disappointment with the PS2 bundle was that you couldn't play Sonics 1-3, as if you had attached Sonic & Knuckles to them.

Sonic 1 had that special bonus level game, Sonic 2 allowed you to play as Knuckles in Vs stuff, and Sonic 3 let you control Knuckles and changed the levels some.
