Ar Tonelico II Won’t Sing Until Next Year

By Spencer . October 23, 2008 . 9:26pm

Originally, Ar Tonelico II: Melody of MetaFalica was slated to come out in mid-December. We just got word that Ar Tonelico II has been rescheduled to ship a for a few weeks later in January 2009. No specific reason was given for the delay and it’s probably better NIS America takes time with the release rather than rush it out the door. Also, this holiday season is packed with J-RPGs on the PlayStation 2. Eternal Poison, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 should keep PlayStation 2 owners busy.

    That’s good news for me, who can’t afford all of the awesome games coming out in the next two months all at once.

    Excellent news, for the exact reasons you stated. On the other hand did Mana Khemia portable also get bumped up? Haven’t heard of it in a while.

  • Looking at the list of upcoming titles released before New Years, the delay might work in their favor. I wonder if there was another reason behind that move.

  • Hello Hello

    I honestly didn’t expect that December release date to hold. I was hoping that it would though. Oh well, here’s hoping that they get it right!

    just preordered this game yesterday along with persona 4.. too bad it wont come out yet

    @jeffx – Mana Khemia PSP? It’s early 2009ish.

    This is actually good news IMO. Hopefully Ar Tonelico 2 gets a nice clean release. I’ll be playing Persona 4 while I wait for it.

    Considering how badly they botched Rhapsody DS, NIS America are better off taking their time.

  • Well… I’ve already waited 2 years. What’s a few more weeks? Hopefully they’ll use the time for some QA and keep the grammatical mishaps to a minimum. The original was horrendously edited, in my opinion, but didn’t detract from its awesomeness.
