Destiny Links: The Start Of An Action RPG Franchise?

By Spencer . October 29, 2008 . 5:00pm

manylinks Namco Bandai is developing an action RPG scheduled to come out this winter. We really don’t know much about Destiny Links since it wasn’t playable at Tokyo Game Show, but the key feature seems to be four player co-op. It’s either that or Seara Ko-jo doing the game’s theme song.

Destiny Links may be enigmatic now, but Namco Bandai might have plans for a “Links” franchise in the future. On the same day they registered a trademark for Destiny Links in Japan they also registered Lasting Links and Endless Links. All of these trademarks may be the result of an indecisive publisher who couldn’t finalize the game’s name and doesn’t care about burning cash or “Links” could be the “Tales” of action RPGs in the future. While we’re waiting to find out here is the trailer for Destiny Links.

    ahhhh you changed it :(
anyway the game looks like a ton of fun... hope this is getting considered by Namco for a NA release.
  • Aw, c'mon jeffx. You know better. Namdai + DS RPG = NA release is UNPOSSIBLE. ;P

(Okay, so technically they brought over some Digimon RPGs, and ToH might be coming...but this isn't exactly a Tales mothership title, or connected to an NA-licensed kids show.)

yeah, I stopped hoping for Namco-Bandai games being localized when they refused to localize Tales of Innocence. I understand why Tales of Tempest was scarped, but Innocence actually looks like a good game! And they have a record of ignoring handheld titles in NA (the GBA Tales only made it over with Nintendo's intervention or so I hear)....so Tales of Hearts and Destiny Links chances are slim for localization. But maybe they will realize how dumb they are being and will actually localize these three, either way, I'm not getting my hopes too high.
