Club Nintendo Only Game & Watch Collection Coming To The USA?

By Spencer . November 21, 2008 . 7:25am

imageWhoa, the long awaited debut of Club Nintendo in North America might be as awesome as Japan. Nintendo said they were going to give out physical goods as prizes and it looks like one of them might be Game & Watch Collection, a Club Nintendo only game in Japan. While Nintendo hasn’t announced it as a prize the ESRB just gave Game & Watch Collection an E rating.

Game & Watch Collection comes has three emulated games: Oil Panic, Greenhouse, and Donkey Kong. Thanks to the help of a Siliconera reader I have a copy of this, but I haven’t opened it. I really should though! If Game & Watch Collection comes out Nintendo might have plans to release other Club Nintendo games like Tingle’s Balloon Fight. Then maybe, just maybe, Nintendo fans won’t need to be envious of Japan’s Club Nintendo anymore.

I’ve been kinda hoping that this would give them a way to also release the Tingle RPG that only had a European release without the factor of low sales and whatnot. I’ll take that or Exclamation Warriors as possible rewards.

I hope this is true, I have both G&W collections and they’re a lot of fun, all of the J-Club Nitnendo games are, especially Tingle’s Balloon Fight.

    @ Jennifer

That’s actually a great idea for releasing low key imports. Tingle RPG is already in english anyway, it’d make a nice fit.

Going back in time I could’ve seen electroplankton getting this treatment too.

sooooo where and how exactly do we sign up for this?

  • Kuronoa

I assume you go on Nintendo’s site and look for it, is it even starting yet?

Also, I want to know… you get points for registering right? I registered games and my systems before do I get points for that or do I have to register more current stuff?

btw I like jarrod’s idea of Nintendo releasing low key imports. Even wiiware/DSi games can be prizes.

Spencer. Don’t open it. I opened mine, and it was not worth it.

And I thought you would have opened it by now! How long has it been, a year? Well now that it’s coming out in the US your decision to keep it sealed is a good one!

Speaking as a current Japan Club Nintendo member, I do hope there are pieces of merchandise related to games geared more towards American audiences. No More Heroes 2 Toilet Paper?
