Sega Developing Another Yakuza Game

By Spencer . May 7, 2009 . 2:50am

image Ryu ga Gotoku 3 (Yakuza 3) came out less than three months ago and Sega isn’t giving the series a break. Series producer Toshihiro Nagoshi shared vague details about a new Ryu ga Gotoku project in an interview with Famitsu.

The game is not Yakuza 4. It isn’t a sequel to Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!, a side story that took place in ancient Japan, either. Like the most recent game, the Ryu ga Gotoku mystery game is being made for the PlayStation 3. Live in the Land of the Rising Sun? A digitalized version of you can appear in the game as a hostess or other bit character. Sega is taking applications at the end of this week.

Any guesses to what the setting and theme could be?

Sega Japanese rep said a month ago that Nagoshi begun work in a huge game aimed for the west so maybe its Ryu ga Gotoku in the west like a side story with Mafia,
I just hope they ‘t don’t even think of Yakuza online.

I’m currently playing this game. And it is fucking awesome. Sure I can’t read anything (I can understand 3/4 of what they say though), but theres an awesome walkthrough a dedicated person has put up online.

Wow, Nagoshi’s really trying to get the most out of that engine. 3 games in 3 years?

They should do a Wii or PSP game for a change…
