Dinosaur Hunting With… Activision?

By Spencer . May 19, 2009 . 4:19pm

imageI’m always curious about games that deal with dinosaurs even if they’re horrible like Dinosaur Hunting. Naturally, Jurassic Hunter piqued my interest.

Activision hasn’t made an official announcement about Jurassic Hunter, but the trademarked the name. Activision tends to publish titles they register trademarks for. Science Papa is a good example, we discovered that almost a year before it was announced. I think the wait for Jurassic Hunter wont be as long since the game is also in Gamefly’s database. The video game rental site claims Jurassic Hunter is a multiplatform game with Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions.

As much as I want this to be a light gun dinosaur game the chance of that happening is slim to none since the Xbox 360 doesn’t have a light gun.

What’s with Activision and stealing other people’s ideas?

    Guitar Hero – Guitar Freaks
    Cooking Mama – Science Papa
    Dinosaur Hunter – Monster Hunter?

    What’s next?
    Activision Sports
    Activision Fit
    Metal Solid Stealth
    Resident Zombie

Well, ACTV didn’t create Guitar Hero, they just bought it, so that doesn’t count. And since we don’t even know what Dino Hunter is yet (could be something like classic Turok, if we’re lucky), it might be a bit premature to say that it’s a riff on Monster Hunter.

    • I was gonna say the exact same thing.

My money’s on Legend of Duty/Super Modern Galaxy.

Activision Blizzard should close soon hopefully last year 108 million dollar loss is a good start.

    • You are teh joke, yes?

      • Mazen

        No, what joke?

        • ActiBlizz isn’t going anywhere. Not as long as Guitar Hero, Call of Duty and WoW keep churning out dollar bills for them. :P

          • Mazen

Seeing their stock I don’t think investors agree with you.

Here http://investor.activision.com/annuals.cfm they made 108$ million loss, they blamed merger costs while companies like Square Enix, Sega Sammy, Namco Bandai all made profits in the years they merged in without 100’s of millions from online games and millions of sales, Square Enix for example just released FFX2 in its merger year and it was enough for it to make a huge profit while Activision Blizzard sold several times that game in the year with 100s of million from online too and made losses and Square enix has more employee which add to the cost,
Activision Blizzard products are not hits that can sell without very excessive advertisement and viral advertising they are making them hit forcefully, they are fooling gamers by telling sites to report their huge revenue or Nongaap results so they look successful while they are making losses.

the company is very much miss managed like Take Two and even EA which since Sega forced them to buy the very expensive exclusive NFL rights were going downhill every year (they lost their free money source) this year they reached 1 billion in losses the hugest 1 year losses in the games industry since it begun late 70, after that comes THQ this year they made 430$ million loss, MS losses around 2 billion in average in their games division too but the company is very profitable thanks to its huge contarcts with governments around the world, sorry I talked a lot but I was interested in elaborating since I like your articles.

Who the hell would like to play a game in which you hunt down and kill maginificient creatures such as dinosaurs???

A game in which the player assumed the role of various dinosaurs would be cool, or a game in which you played a human that tamed intelligent dinosaurs and went to war with them against alien invaders or something…
