Thanks for the advice guys! I'll be sure to give it a look up and try out these things after more research, I'm sure it's great to be able to play both US & Jpn games on one single system, w/o having to shell out money for a 2nd console, plus my TV ran out of component outputs alrdy.

BTW, can you access the Jpn Wii Shop w/ this method too? Or it has to be a Jpn system only?

I really want a piano black Wii, it's so sleek even though it would be a dust magnet like the PS3.

It's really really easy and the comfort to be gained is worth it. Not only can I play all my imports while being updated to the newest Nintendo firmware, I can also install them to a portable hard drive to cut down loading times and noise tremendously (not to mention that I don't have to get up to change games *g*).

Like RootBeerKing said, BootMii will also make your Wii practically unbrickable by allowing you to make backups of the entire internal memory to a SD card.

The HackMii installer will install Hombrew Channel, BootMii and DVDX for you. You can start it either with the Twilight Hack or Bannerbomb. Afterwards you can freely update via Nintendo's network update feature and won't have to worry about it again.

Not that I'm aware of. Apparently it works pretty well IF you have linked your Club Nintendo membership to the consoles (which have a unique ID used to tie your purchases to). That way the two are easily identifiable.

Might be worth a call to your local Nintendo branch.

Installing homebrew on a Wii is pretty easy though, you don't have to be tech savvy, you just have to be able to follow directions. If you did you'd be able to update to 4.0, and download all the fun wiiware games, not to mention you'd be able to play those imports. If you're not like me, and really want a black wii, you should just consider saving the money, buy an SD card, install homebrew channel, and use Gecko OS to play your import games. And if you're worried about bricks do a google search for “bootmii”. It's takes less than 5 minutes to install the homebrew channel(on 3.2), and you'd save all that money on a new console. But again, who am I to talk about saving money, when I just want the new color.

I know about the twilight hack or homebrew.. I've seen videos on youtube, but I don't want to take any risk since I'm not good w/ these things, like if you don't burn isos and update it thru Nintendo, it would brick your system or something right? I'm still using the freeloader disc, that's about as comfortable I am playing imports w/o soft or hard modding. And I can't go on Wii shop or use the SD card transfer since it's still 3.2. If I can play all imports or US games w/ 2 separate systems I don't mind too much, I have gotten a Jpn slim PS2 before and now I have two 360s. I thought if I'm spending another 300 bucks on a 2nd Wii, I might as well get it in a different color, instead of putting skin or swapping case w/ a white one.

I see they're selling just the black system for 25,000 yen too, so I'm getting that. Finally about damn time for a different colored wii, I'm glad it's a black one too.

Yes, yes, a resounding yes! I've been waiting for this since the beginning when the showed us the "five" colors! All these region locks have been getting on my nerves and I wanted to get a Jpn system for a long time (I have a Jpn 360 and a Jpn slim PS2), just didn't want to get another white one.

Don't care much for Monster Hunter, but the new black classic controller is very cool. If they don't gouge the price like selling it for $600, or I could find a reasonable deal, I'm definitely getting this. You won Nintendo, you got me buying a 2nd system, happy Iwata?

BTW, I've always thought of having both a white and black Wii, just like Mk II Gundam, black painted white in Zeta :)

OR you could use a SD card to transfer all your saves to, plug it into the new console and move them to the internal memory of the black model.

Just sayin'. ;)

(Wii savegames work on any console, there are even websites offering them as downloads).
